Since I was not going anywhere near Sepang on Sunday due to weather reasons, I attended and photographed our local Regional Lions Clubs Carnival at the Dataran Bandaraya (City Square) at Johor Bahru. Guest of Honour was Lion District Governor Chan Hoi.
The Carnival was held to raise funds for our Lions- MAA Medicare Dialysis Centres, of which two are operating in Johor Bahru. The premise was simple - the Lions members sold tickets, and customers used these to patronise stalls selling a wide variety of produce and goods. The crowd pullers were a muscle car show, and cultural performances by students from local secondary schools.
Light intensity:Very bright, with harsh noonday sun directly overhead, causing shadowed faces and high-contrast images
Cloud cover: 2 oktas
Solution: Tv 1/200s, and liberal use of fill flash with Stofen Omnibounce to eliminate shadowing.

The next order of business was to give away scholarships to needy students under the JB Lions Club of Johor Bahru Tanjung Petrie's FACE programme (Financial Aid for Children's Education). The FACE programme was started over 10 years ago by Lion Dr Lee Boon Peng, and has so contributed 780 scholarships to students over the years.
This year, they are awarding 124 students with scholarships, for a total outlay of RM 102,000.
